Important: Updated CGCS Learning Options-Distance/In-Person(See Notifications) Updated ZOOM Schedule Effective 9-21-2020 Student Pick-Up And Drop-Off Effective 9-21-2020 Sept. 14, 2020 Dear CGCS families, In preparation for the opening of "in-person" learning on our CGCS campus, on Monday, Sept.21, 2020, all ZOOM sessions for our classes will be cancelled for Thursday and Friday (Sept. 17 & 18, 2020). Teachers and Staff will be involved in extensive training sessions for COVID19 protocols, etc. and will be required to attend all sessions. Please have your children continue to work on their packets and bring them to school with them, the first day they return. Remember, you can drop off their supplies in a plastic bag or their tub, on Tuesday and Thursday, during the T-shirt sale (9am-5pm), as long as their name is on their items. As a reminder, if you are NOT having your children return to "in-person" learning on campus on Sept. 21, 2020, and they are continuing to work from home, with packets, when you are ready for them to return, they can ONLY return on Mondays, if they ride the bus. Make sure you inform us that your child will be returning to "in-person" learning on campus by the Friday before, so we can adjust the bus seating. New packet Pick-up and Drop-off times going forward will be 9am-5pm, Tuesdays, in front of the lobby. We will NOT be doing curbside, due to lack of staffing. Parents will need to park, and retrieve/drop off packets via the classroom tubs outside, in front of the lobby. We do apologize for this inconvenience. The Tuesday dates for these packet pick-ups and drop-offs will be as follows: 9-22-20 10-27-20 11-17-20 12-15-20 1-19-21 2-9-21 3-2-21 3-30-21 4-27-21 5-25-21 We hope that all our students return as soon as possible for "in-person" learning, as packets are NOT the CGCS model for "hands-on, experiential learning". Packets are only a temporary substitute to enable students to have some continuation of their studies, while working from home.(All the research on learning shows students learn better and with more retention, by using as many of their senses(seeing, hearing, touching, smelling and tasting) and learning modalities{visual, auditory, tactile(touch) and kinesthetic (movement)} as possible. This cannot be done as effectively, on a computer or with packets.) Make sure your children arrive to school, in school uniform/dress code(check the codes on hair coloring), remind them of our strict cell phone policy(must be checked in on the food court before going to class) and that they wear a mask. CGCS welcomes the return of our fabulous students and we look forward to a safe and exciting year!!! We are so excited to see all of you!
