Barnyard

Students in grades K-4 have the opportunity to learn about domesticated farm animals. Students are scheduled for Barnyard once a week and get to feed the animals as well as engage in Reading activities about their class animal. Each grade takes care of a specific farm animal and their reading activites focus on that animal. A learning center is utilized in the classroom to teach students about their barnyard animal and integrate other activites and lessons in Math, Literature, Writing, Social Studies, and Science.

Animals include: chickens, peacocks, ducks, geese, rabbits, sheep, goats, llamas, alpacas, pigs, milk cows, miniature horses, miniature donkeys, horses, and donkeys.  Excitement runs high when a new chick, goat, or sheep is born and baby peacocks run behind their mothers as their strut their beautiful feathers. Kids just love to go to Barnyard!!!!
